Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm (closed on Monday).
Every first Sunday of the month: 11am to 6pm

Closed on 1 January, 1 May, 25 December


Full price admission is 5.

The reduced entrance fee is 3:

  • for students
  • for children 6 – 17 years old
  • with the Montoulouse Senior Card
  • for groups of 10 people or more (by reservation)
  • with the Toulouse Culture Card
  • with the Cosat Card

Subscribe to come all year round!

  • Solo Pass (one person): €10
  • Duo Pass (holder + 1 person): €20
  • Tribu Pass (holder + 6 people): €40

Passes are valid for one year from the date of issue.

Access is free if:

  • You are under 6 years
  • you are a person with a disability and his/her companion
  • you benefit of social minima
  • you are a journalist (on presentation of your press card)
  • you are a museum curator or lecturer
  • you have a Tourism Pass
  • you have an ICOM card

It’s free for everyone every first Sunday of the month and for major events such as the Heritage Days and the Night of the Museums.

Visit the exhibition spaces

  • 2 exhibition spaces in the brick tower on the ground floor and in the basement
  • at the bottom of the garden, a second gallery with an exhibition space
  • the visit lasts on average from 45 minutes to 1h30

Buy a souvenir or a book in the shop/library

  • the exhibition shop sells posters, books and postcards
  • the library corner has a selection of photography books for all audiences
  • objects, tote bags and other accessories on the theme of photography

Cultivate your passion in the library

  • 15,000 books on photography freely available for consultation on site
  • international magazines and journals via subscription
  • selections from the exhibitions to learn more about the work of the photographers presented
  • a selection of games and children’s books to discover photography while having fun

Stroll through the garden

  • in the Château d’Eau’s park, enjoy a shady garden
  • from June to October, The ephemeral Café of  Café cerise offers coffee, drinks and pastries.

By foot: A few minutes away from the Place Esquirol via the Pont Neuf or from the Place St-Cyprien by taking a heritage walk from the Musée d’art moderne et contemporain Les Abattoirs – Frac Occitanie (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art – Les Abattoirs – Regional Fund for Contemporary Art Occitania).

Entry is free up to the age of 18.

  • Prepare your visit by downloading the exhibition booklets or by asking for them at the welcome desk
  • Encourage them to express their feelings about the works of art
  • To take photographs to share on social networks (unless explicitly stated otherwise)
  • To leave a comment at the end of the exhibition 

For the comfort of your visit, you will find a relaxing area in the garden with an ephemeral café from June to October. Drawing materials and a selection of children’s books for quiet time in the library (Tuesday to Saturday).

Rules for a good visit: avoid running in the rooms, do not touch the pieces of art, respect the tranquility of other people on site.

A group consists of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 people.

Young public and school groups

  • Self-guided tours (without a mediator) between 1pm and 7pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Reservation of a visit slot is required.
  • Prepare your visit by downloading the exhibition booklets or by asking for them at the welcome desk
  • Guided tours organised by the Château d’Eau upon registration at least 10 days before the date of the visit

Adult groups

Self-guided tours (without a mediator) between 1pm and 7pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Reservation of a visit slot is required.

Warning : Only one toilet available (+ public toilet outside). The Château d’Eau does not have a dining room. For schoolchildren, picnics are possible in the garden (please inform us in advance). Please anticipate your time and organisation in advance.
